EFFIE GARLAND FAHRING

Source: Waveland Independent, Waveland, Indiana 4 February 1910

The news of the sudden death of Mrs. George Fahring, formerly Miss Effie Garland, which took place at her home in Anahuac, Texas on Friday, January 28, caused much regret among her many friends across Waveland. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Garland and was born and grew up in this vicinity, the family afterwards removing to Medicine Lodge, Kansas. About twelve years ago, her father was killed by a fall from his horse; soon after, her brother was accidentally shot while hunting and the mother did not long survive, leaving Miss Effie the only one of the family. About a year ago she married Mr. Fahring and has since made her home in Anahuac. She was ill but a day or two with appendicitis. The body was interred at Medicine Lodge on Tuesday. - kbz
